Three things Thursday...running and randoms:)

This week has been crazy...I feel like I start every Thursday with that, but seriously, when is something going to give??

1) on the workout front, I haven't been able to workout with Nick at all this week:( And I have a long run scheduled for Saturday, but I have to leave for a wedding at 7am and I'm not sure I'll be able to get it in before then. I plan on being a little brown bottle fluish on Sunday, so I'm not sure about that either. I did manage to get 8 in yesterday and was so relieved to see my kids drive by that I flagged them down and had them take me home at 8.1....I had gotten too far out and was going to have to hit 9-10 to get home! Yikes! My knees are still a little bothersome...not as bad as before, but I'm still not loving going up and down stairs which is a little sad since my house is a bi-level.

2) I'm feeling a little overwhelmed with the long runs that my training plan has scheduled in the middle of the week. It seems that in the next few weeks I'm going to be putting 10-12 miles in on Wednesday...really?? I haven't quite figured out how I'm going to pull that one off...does it count if I have to break them up into two separate runs?? Like 5 at lunch and 5-7 more after work?? I'm really feeling the pressure of sticking to a plan...and my house has sure taken a hit (aka backseat), along with my laundry pile and social life. Good grief! IT WILL BE WORTH IT! Stay positive and focused...working on that, but I'm feeling very anxious about being able to get everything done!

3) I'm going to be out of town 3 weekends in a row. Yikes...with back to back weddings and a long overdue camping trip with the monkeys (look out south Carolina, here we come!!!) then school starts...and before I know it, October will be here. SIGH! I'm not overly thrilled with driving the three monkeys to South Carolina, but I really want to get to the beach!! And I'm super excited to see my girl Lindsay! The weddings should all be fun...I'll have lots of stories and pictures I'm sure...although I'm not sure if I will be able to post them:) Hopefully my friends and I aren't too crazy! So I'm asking this...please slow down summer...I'm not quite ready for you to end....sniff, sniff.

I know what you mean about traveling a lot... I love weddings and fun events, but it's so hard when you're marathon training!

We traveled alot this summer to (if you read my Chicago marathon blog ) we will see how I missed runs and got creative on cross training.

As for doing two runs in one day- that is funny that you mention that. I was just reading another blogger "Cubicle Dad" and he had a link to this

p.s. dont sweat the mid week LR... just cut it in half. this is only marathon number 1 and TRUST me... it will be fine to not run it. do 5 or something. seriously. it isnt a big deal.

p.p.s. did you know i'm over weight? oh and that i'm doing herbal life? oh and that i have a box of gobstoppers i'm going to give to you or hold as a reward for my hard work? sigh.

Wow, you sure do look busy! The NC trip will be fun though. And it will be worth it. The hard work will pay off :) Keep doing it!!

I do 15km on Wednesday mornings and I just don’t have time to go longer. It does seem to be enough though. I used to add a second run on Tuesdays and some Wednesdays and that upped the miles nicely. It works but you get really tired and I started missing either Thursday or Friday. Now I don’t do more than 15 in the week but I do run my 6 days a week every week. Sundays are my long run days and I rest Mondays.

Fitting in those long runs during the week would stress me out too. You are right though- it iwll be so worth it!

The fact that you can even run 10 miles regardless what day of the week is so freakin impressive...with three kids to boot. (the canadian influence is rubbing off) Hang in there, we are supporting you all the way up here.

Sounds like you are busy, busy, busy! I know what you mean about laundry and the social life taking a back seat. Sounds like you've got the right attitude though... IT WILL BE WORTH IT! Stay positive and focused...everything will eventually get done.

you'll find a way to get the long weekday runs in...those are the times I'm thankful for Nick Jr and a big messy craft table!
